Ok, I'm probably going to write about Christmas for half the year! LOL! Maybe I should start off with a meeting?....
"Hi! My name is Patti and I'm addicted to Christmas!" ... *crowd drones "Hi Patti". ;)
Yes even during hard times someone can appreciate the joys of Christmas. I love everything about Christmas. For that week I even love the snow! hehe. I love the visual of Christmas, the romance and the coziness. Family, friends, music, warmth envelop the air. Cookies, apple cider and pine only add to the atmosphere and send me to a happy place no matter how bad things seem. I cry as George Bailey sits chewing on his nuckles at the bar every single year as I cuddle up to watch It's A Wonderful Life for the bazillionth time.
This year is particularly hard. I've had more on the plate than I've probably ever had and I just lost a lovely friend to Cancer just this past Thursday November 19th. Michele Oestreich was a wonderful person and will be missed by many. My condolences go to her family and many friends. That in itself will leave a burning tear on our faces but those who love her know she's watching over us this holiday season to help us get through the loss of her.
I myself will probably have many times that the sentimentality of Christmas may just overwhelm me but thank goodness for little girls and boys. Mine to be precise. Their youthfulness is good medicine. I'll take a dose of Jeremy and a dose of Maddy whenever I can get it and call in the morning for another. Hmm, wait... "Hi, my name is Patti and I'm addicted to my kids!" ;)
I think I'll get to the tree this weekend... maybe blog again when I get out from under decorations? :)
