OMG, it seems like just a week ago I was planting flowers in pots and taking those pictures and now a whole summer just went and flew by! Where did all that time go? Well, 2 trips to 2 different zoos, summer kids programs, walks, bbqs with friends, enjoying the pool.
Summer has come to mean a lot for me. In years passed I really disliked summer. The last two years I have learned to embrace it. Trips home, time with my amazing family and outings to whatever comes to mind. All with a lot of sunshine.
I have really started to like the creative direction my home is taking. Gone are the chocolate brown walls and in came "bicycle yellow"! I have been looking at it all summer long and I love it more and more every day. I knew it would help with my creativity and it sure has. This summer I finally tried pink hair underneath and if it would only last longer I'd be totally happy!
Before you know it the last bits of summer are going to be over and we'll be eating turkey's and decorating for hallowe'en. After that it will be Christmas and I'll ask where the last year went and before I can finish the sentence I'll remember that it just went by that quickly. Quickly is fine. Just don't make me miss too much when I blink. My kids are getting too big too fast! One reason to love summer, you get to slow down enough to take notice of it. And to think I didn't like it in the past. Good things come to those who wait.
