So I blinked just now and realized that school has been done for almost a month!!! It just seems like yesterday that I was running around with my head cut off and was doing a boat load of assignments and now... I'm doing a boat load of work!
I really can't believe the last three years went by so fast! It was a lot of hard work but in all honesty it was work that I absolutely loved. I am very proud of the fact that I've gotten 2 diplomas and a certificate (with honours in all) in just the matter of three years. I think the best decision I have ever made is walking through the front doors of Durham College. I met a ton of fantastic people that I'm never going to forget and some that I absolutely refuse to let go of. As expected I spent half of my last two weeks crying that I had to leave. When I love a place you have to pry me off the doors and this was no different but something nice happened in the last two days of school. I felt a huge sense of relief and accomplishment that gave me a big bout of adrenaline so I've tried to keep that going as long as I can.
What was in the works last month and what's in the works now? Well last month I was making this new website, my video bio and my demo reel. Can I just say by the way... I loooove after effects. I love doing simple animations with text and can't wait to do something fun with it down the road in the form of a music video or art piece. So as I was saying I was doing things to improve the technical side of my work but I was also doing things to my art. Namely my art piece that is in the Juried Art Show at the Station Gallery. I'm excited to go there on Thursday and meet up with friends and teachers and see my work on display (I hope someone buys it ... its for sale for a fancy $400 in case you're interested!
What am I doing now? I Last week I shot a friends wedding and have been editing and sifting through 975 photos. This week coming up I'm shooting photos of the play that my daughter is in at her school. Both will keep me busy for the next two weeks. What will happen after that is anyone's guess. I have a lot of ideas of things I want to do and I've been working on that transformation of my basement into my portrait studio for months now and making good headway.
